The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program(IB DP) is a prestigious two year course of studies which corresponds to the fourth and fifth year of the Italian high school or to the last two years (10^th and 11^th grade) of foreign 12-year school systems.

The course is authorized by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) and the diploma is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Public Education. The diploma is considered a prestigious final high school award (with an emphasis either on languages or sciences depending on the subjects chosen by the student) and based on the most advanced foreign educational systems. On top of this, the International Baccalaureate Diploma has the added value of being recognized by the most important Universities worldwide.

Classes are small, all subjects are taught in English by mother tongue or bilingual teachers, and classrooms are fully equipped.

The only class held in Italian is the national language and literature one, and this emphasizes Vittoria’s deeply rooted Italian background, which is considered a non- renounceable cultural heritage.

SUBJECTS

All Diploma Program subjects are characterized by innovative contents and interactive teaching methodologies. 

There are eight main areas of studies with the aim of offering the broadest possible range of skills and competencies.
The three traditional fields: literary (Italian language and literature), linguistic (English, French, Spanish) and scientific (Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Economics) are complemented by TOK (Theory of Knowledge) and CAS (Creativity, Action , Service): the first consisting of a modern reinterpretation of epistemology and the latter encompassing activities ranging from sports to voluntary service and journalism.

HOW TO ENROL

Enrolment on the IB Diploma Program is possible:

• directly after obtaining the Cambridge ICE;
• for students from a 12-year course of studies upon successful completion of 10th grade. Enrolment is subject to positive results on an Italian and English placement test for all students, as well as a math test for those interested in the scientific track and a second foreign language test for those interested in the linguistic track;
• for students coming from Italian high schools upon successful completion of the 3rd year. Enrolment is subject to positive results on an Italian and English placement test for all students, as well as a math test for those interested in the scientific track and a second foreign language test for those interested in the linguistic track.
