Celebrating Grandparents' Day

🎉 Today at Vittoria School we celebrated Grandparents' Day! 🎉

It was a special moment where grandparents shared stories with our elementary students about what school was like in their time. 📚✏ They brought objects and photographs from the past, taking us all on a journey through time. Here are some of the interesting facts they shared:

📜 There were no school trips!
✒ They used inkwells to write.
👒 Punishments could be standing behind the blackboard or, in the worst case, wearing a dunce hat and walking around the school.
🙏 Each morning started with roll call and the Lord's Prayer.
👔 Students wore single-color uniforms.
🎮 During recess, they played with glass marbles, wooden spinning tops, and toy soldiers.

Lastly, they told us that lunch often included pasta with beans or chickpeas, and the school provided meals for the poorer children. 🍽

A huge thank you to our grandparents for sharing these precious memories with us! 💖
