Study trip to Annecy and Geneva: an unforgettable learning experience

From 13 to 19 October 2024, a group of students from the Lycée Européen and VIS took part in an educational trip to Annecy, a picturesque town in Haute Savoie, France. The stay, organised as part of the DELF B1 and B2 preparation programme, allowed the students to attend an intensive language course at the Alliance Française. In addition to the lessons, the students took part in various cultural excursions and lived with local families, an experience that further enriched their learning.

The visit to the United Nations building in Geneva

One of the most significant stops on the trip was a visit to the United Nations building in Geneva, where they had the opportunity to learn more about global issues and observe the work of international institutions.

At the end of the week, the students took part in a mini-cruise on Lake Annecy and visited the picturesque Gorges du Fier.

Here are some of the testimonies of the young people:

"On Wednesday we went to Geneva, an international city located in Switzerland. We were lucky enough to visit the United Nations, a truly symbolic place, where we learned a lot about the work of this organisation for world peace. We saw conference rooms and actively participated, asking questions about the world political situation."

"This week we are in Annecy, a beautiful town located in the south-east of France, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Here we were able to admire the magnificent Lake Annecy, one of the cleanest in Europe. The city is surrounded by mountains and offers many opportunities for hiking and cycling."

"At the Alliance Française in Annecy, we prepared for the DELF exam. We had a very positive experience and met fantastic families. The next day, we took a mini-cruise on Lake Annecy and visited the Gorges du Fier. What a great experience!"
