Chinese New Year 2025: the year of the snake in our classrooms 🐍🎊

The year 2025 marks the arrival of the Year of the Snake in the Chinese lunar calendar, a celebration rich in tradition, symbolism and deep meaning. At Scuola Vittoria, we celebrated this important anniversary with creative and cultural activities involving classes 4A and 4B of the primary school.

Snake-shaped origami πŸ–οΈπŸ

The students cutΒ and coloured beautiful paper snakes, a symbol of wisdom, cunning and transformation. This activity allowed them to explore the symbolism of the Year of the Snake and develop manual and artistic skills.

A special lesson on the Lunar New Year πŸ“–βœ¨

A big thank you to Mr Frascella, who shared with our students an in-depth presentation on Chinese New Year celebrations, illustrating the differences between ancient traditions and modern customs. He talked about superstitions related to the Lunar New Year, such as the meaning of colours, offerings and rituals to attract good luck and prosperity. The students actively participated, asking questions and deepening their knowledge of this fascinating culture.
