Affectivity, body and emotions

In the past few weeks, an important and delicate educational project has got under way, dedicated to the pupils of classes 5^A and 5^B of the primary school: the Affectivity and Sexuality Education Project, implemented in collaboration with the Nuovo Centro Clinico team.

The aim of the project is to promote, in a respectful and age-appropriate manner, conscious reflection on topics related to the emotional, affective and bodily sphere, offering children a safe space in which to express their thoughts, emotions and curiosity.

A pathway in four meetings

The project consists of four classroom meetings, each focusing on a specific aspect:

🟠 The map of emotions
Through recognising and verbalising emotions, children learn to read the signals of their bodies, to name what they feel and to communicate it clearly to others.

🟡 How I dress my body
The changes associated with puberty, the anatomy and physiology of the human body are addressed, with a special focus on the relationship each child has with their body and the importance of accepting themselves.

🟢 Reciprocity and consent
We talk about personal boundaries, conscious physical contact and the freedom to say no, reflecting on what is pleasant or unpleasant, with a view to mutual respect and listening.

🔵 Affective ties and the sense of belonging
An opportunity to value friendship, trust in others, feeling part of a group and the ability to trust with serenity.

A moment of restitution for families and teachers

The course will conclude on 14 April with a restitution meeting for parents and teachers, at which the content addressed and the ways in which it was worked on in the classroom will be shared.

This project represents an important opportunity for growth and awareness, supporting children in a phase of great change and promoting healthy, open and respectful affective education.
